MATTERS ARISING:
Clive’s Report on the
Brook:
The
Sec tabled the report which highlighted vandalism, the envolvment
of the EA to inform private and public bodies of their
responsibility to the Brook and issue Enforcement Notices where
necessary. Brian R detailed his work in repairing the bank of the Brook
where it posed a danger on a public footpath due to vandalism. The
Chairman offered thanks to Clive and Brian for their continuous work on
the Brook.
Youth Gatherings:
The
meeting was concerned about the gathering of 50 plus youths at end and
beginning of term on the field behind Gilders and the old Victorian Tip
which forms part of the upper field bought to extend Pishiobury Park.
Kekseys and Esbies:
It
looks as if both these sites we have ask for action in the past is
happening. The caravans have gone from Kekseys and changes are taking
place at Esbies.
Brian R’s walks:
The next walk in Sawbridgeworth
is in October
Woodland Trust:
You can now join the trust for
a few pounds if you use your Tesco points.
Pishiobury New Land:
Warren to find a
supply of Black Poplars to replace two dead ones.
Southbrook Allotment:
A LEAF grant has been awarded
for improved drainage to this site.
A connection has been made for solar power by Warren and he is willing
to give a talk on this at the allotment shed. To organise
this at
the next meeting. Plants needed to place in planters outside
the
shed and children welcome to do this.
AGENDA ITEMS:
A Talk on Zero Carbon Britain.(ZCB):
Warren outlined his visit to CAT where he learnt about ZCB.
He
also visited Coal Brook Dale where we started the industrial revolution
and we have a responsibility to start the ZCB revolution.
The ZCB talk is planned to run over a number of months and is taken
from a CAT publication which is available at www.zerocarbonbritain.com
Warren’s talk set the target for ZCB by 2027 and
why this
may be too late to stop natural positive feedback to climate change.
South Brook Allotments:
With John Rider not being present Warren gave a few facts. The official
opening of the environmental shed will be made by our Mayor on Saturday
22nd and the LEAF grant is available to improve the drainage at the car
park end.
LSP Representative:
The Sec will talk to David Thorogood about our involvement.
Joining the CVS:
It was agreed we should join the CVS-application has been made and
accepted.
Grants:
It was agreed we should apply for a grant to Sawbridgeworth Town
Council.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING:
A meeting will be held in
the Hailey Day Centre at 8.00pm on Thursday 18th October.
AOB:
Members ask for details of
grants to improve the insulation of their houses.

Apple Day:
Chris R brought a paper
showing all the
Apple Days in the UK and it showed Rivers Orchards as 24th October
1.30pm to 4.00pm in Church House Sawbridgeworth.
