AGENDA ITEMS

Clearing the Herbage:

Fiona Annal arrived with twenty odd volunteers from CMS. The task was not as daunting as first envisaged as it had been reasonable dry and the tractor had been able to cut most of the field and would be able to bail the herbage at a latter date. However there is a drainage ditch running across the width of the site which would not be good for machinery. We thus racked out the ditch and pilled the herbage on the sides.
We could see our Black Poplars now clearly visible on the far side of the field and outside the intended new fencing for livestock. The cutting of the field had exposed a young oak about 6ft tall that we thought was worth saving. CMS said we could build a corral for protection and they would supply materials. With much work and help with drawing and know how we have a structure around our oak tree.
