MINUTES:
Minutes of meeting held 15th June 2006 were accepted as a true record.

MATTERS ARISING:

Correspondence

Stansted Airport. Brochure with information on proposed second runway at Stansted available. Clive Atkins reported that he had contacted the complaints line at the airport on numerous occasions lately regarding low flying aircraft and had received various replies although nothing positive. Advised to write to the planning officer at Uttlesford Council as the airport is in their area.

Wind turbine. Planning application has been passed for a wind turbine to be erected at Leventhorpe School which will be just over 17 metres high. This will supply electricity needed by the school and any excess can be sold back to the national grid.

Tourism initiative. There had been a lack of communication between Town Council, East Herts and tourism group regarding signage and therefore duplication of effort. Letter from East Herts on file suggesting way forward. Tourism signage group do not have a further meeting planned.

Farmers Market. Chris Carter informed that one is to be held in Bishops Stortford on 19th August

Sawbridgeworth Brook. Problems under the bridge at A 1184 where there is to be development of the Sawbridgeworth Motors site. There are already conditions in place regarding this development and not felt prudent currently to add more. Suggestion to approach the developers directly when it is found out who these are. The brook currently is almost totally dry for its whole length.

Bikers. Clive has produced warning and security posters, which he has displayed at various points where bikers congregate. This has the telephone number on for people to contact the police to report nuisance problems 0845 3300 222. Clive has met with police and they ask that all incidents be reported to them.

Car Park surfacing. Nothing further has been done at present.

Wildlife site on Victorian Tip

Discussion around whether to carry out any work here or to leave it as it is. Decision not to request any work to be carried out.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS


Pishiobury Park fields. These need to be managed. East Herts Council have said they will have a management plan at the end of this year but work needs to be done sooner that this.

Overgrown hedge. Chris Carter gave the location of this at an empty house and advised to contact Highways who will then put process in operation. PM Note:Diana R passed on contact details to Chris.

There is also overhanging foliage on a house in Fair Green and two letters have now been sent to the owner.

Duckling Lane parking. Ted reported that cars are being parked over the lowered kerb. When reported to Highways he was informed they will have a meeting and a suggestion of double yellow lines being placed there.

Fair Green pedestrian access. Ted has not yet written to the local paper requesting comments on this work but will do so. Ted informed the group that he and Alice will be moving out of the area within the next two months. Chair wished them well for the future and grateful thanks were extended to them for all the work they have done over the years.

Web site. Invoice received for £430. Hope to have this operational by the end of the year.

Harlow North. East of England Development Group are fighting the report as there have been possible incorrect procedures.

Community Voice. Next meeting is on Friday 7th September at Memorial Hall. This will be attended by Town Mayor and Town Clerk from Sawbridgewonth Town Council, Leader and Senior Officer from East Herts Council and a representative from Hertfordshire County Council.

Omission sites. These sites are currently designated in the Local Plan not to be built on.

Eco House. Warren to write and request a visit for next year. Warren has recently installed a green roof at his house which consists of sedum and acts as insulation.

Battle of Trafalgar. Chris R informed that all 18,000 men who were involved in this are on record in Portsmouth.


Open Studios. Diana had leaflets for distribution on local arts and crafts studios.

Holiday Scheme. Postcards for distribution on activities for young people.Clive mentioned that it would be good to have environmental and wildlife areas for young people to visit with structured tuition and information available.
