on Thursday 20th April
Ted had received a letter regarding work commencing on making the area safer for pedestrians. The suggestion he had made was turned down as he was told he was not a 'highways person'. The work which has been carried out is not what was originally suggested. There is a gravel area for a walkway which is level to the road so it can be overriden by vehicles. The request for 'Give Way to Pedestrians' signs could not be forwarded as these are not part of the current signage. To possibly raise this issue again at a later date in relation to traffic flow. Ted was offered congratulations for carrying this matter forward and the work being completed.
Large potholes outside of the Hailey Day Centre; footpath on east side of entrance road to car park uneven. Diana Richards will be taking this up with East Herts Council. Cards distributed regarding which authority to contact regarding repairs of this type.
