MINUTES :

The minutes of the last meeting were distributed in good time and agreed at the meeting .

1 Affiliation with Friends of Rivers. Due to us not making a firm offer of affiliation to The Friends of Rivers they have deemed us out of time and the matter closed.

Lorna S offered an invitation to those present to an Executive Meeting of Friends of Rivers at 11 Beech Drive Swb on 28th January ’99 at 8pm.

2 Bridgefoot House Liz G has not received a reply from Planning regarding the alterations. Wally W has looked at the house and talked to the architect and found there is a great mixture with little historic interest. The house is Victorian above 3ft high except for a 17th century window, which is being preserved for another location. Members asked if Mr Jack Seals the previous owner had any photographs to record the history.

3 The Anniversary. A general discussion took place and Jake L tried to get us to focus on who we wanted to promote ourselves to on the evening, this was:

  1. Councils which abutt the River
  2. the public in Swb and the Surrounding area.

John R was keen that we outlined a structure to the evening so we had something to build on. The initial proposal was that we ask Bob Parker the Chairman of EHDC to be our Chairman for the evening. To ask HCC Cllr Mary Bayse to introduce our link with the ’97 International Exchange. Steve K to outline our year’s work and Wally Wright to be the guest speaker. Other speakers were suggested which Warren R would contact. The formal part of the evening would end with a presentation to the evening’s Chairman.

The hall to be populated with displays of the SVP’s work and other like minded organisations. List with names and addresses required.
