MINUTES OF THE STORT VALLEY PROJECT MEETING

MINUTES :

  The minutes of the last meeting were distributed at the meeting and accepted.

1 Affiliation with Friends of Rivers While every body except Liz G was in general agreement it was felt that the necessary members of both Rivers and SVP were not present to formally endorse such a proposal.

2 The Anniversary Costs were looked at which would fit into a budget of L500:

 120 New Year Cards prepared by Steve K L50, postage L30

 Hire of the hall L120

 Printing of fliers with some laminates say L100 Monya B awaiting quote.

 The banner was felt to be too expensive for a one off, can we make our own?

 Refreshments? Costs not considered at meeting.

3 Harlow North Concern was expressed at the proposed development of a town of 18500 dwellings, north of Eastwick between Hunsdon and Gilston.

Diana R erged members to write to John Prescot, their MP Bowen Wells, outlinning their concern and that the SVP should maintain their correspondence with SERPLAN on the subject. Monya B will contact James Carter of Eastwick Farm to pledge our support and obtain the major opposition pointers.

Diana R was asked to place the subject of Harlow North on the next Swb TC agenda. She requested a formal proposal from SVP which she could put forward,latest 28th Dec '98. She also agreed to contact Norman Meade.
